Promotion

Nagapply po ako for promotion last august at dumaan sa 2-day interview. Pagkatapos ng interview, kinausap po ako ng department head at manager namin na ako daw po ang napili sa position at kinongratulate. Sinabi na din po sa cluster namin na ako ang napili. Wala pa pong written announcement sa buong kompanya kasi sa sunod na buwan (this september) pa po effectivity. Pinasa po ng Managers ko ang promotion documents sa hr para ma process this week pero hindi po ito inapprovahan ng hr manager. Meron po kasi akong non compliance sa pagtag ng oras ko nung march. Inaamin ko pong hindi ko na save ang oras ko ng isang araw last march pero inayos ko po agad ito pagkabalik ko. Hindi na po ako binigyan ng corrective action ng immediate manager ko dahil doon. Ang reason po ng hr dapat daw po bigyan ako ng corrective action at hindi ako dapat mapromot kasi isa po sa mga requirements para makapagapply sa promotion ay wala kang running active corrective action. Nung time na nagapply at ininterview po nila ako last August hanggang ngayon po ay wala pa po akong corrective action. Pipirmahan ko po ba yung corrective action na ibibigay sakin kahit march pa po ito nangyari?

Isnag buwan po akong nagantay expecting na promoted ako kasi yun po ang sinabi nila sakin. Dami na din pong tao ang nakakaalam na promoted ako (hindi po ako ang nagsabi). Ayos lang po sana kung di ako mapromote pero sana po sinabi nila sakin ng maaga hindi po yung isang buwan pa kung saan nageexpect na po ako or sana po hindi na po nila ako pinayagan magapply in the first place. May legal rights po ba akong naapakan nila? Pwede ko po kaya kwestyunin desisyon nila? May emotional damage po ito saakin at kahihiyan.

anyway, promotion is management prerogative, wala kang legal rights na hingiin ito at kung hindi ibigay sa iyo ito wala ka din masasabi.

yes you can question their decision but malinaw ang policy naka lagay doon - no running corrective action. sana na close mo to noon pa bago mangyari yan.

Wala pong binigay sakin na corrective action last march. That's why nakapagapply po ako. When they were processing the promotion papers, the hr disapproved because they said i should be given a corrective action. Ayos lang po kung walang promotion, i just thought we all wasted our time for that interview. They should have not taken my application if I had zero chance naman po pala. 1 month po na sinet na nila expectations ko. I respect their decision pero I think the system failed me. I felt like I was misled to a different path. Honestly, may moral damage po sakin to. Do you think I should just let this go?

Moral Damages is hard to prove. Also where would you file it? What would your image be after filing it? I'm not telling you to let them go or not, because that will be up to you. It's your future that is inline but think first before acting. Try to approach it diplomatically.

Dole? Anyways, I have already accepted the fact na wala na pong promotion. It's just that I feel na may mali po sa system na dapat nilang ayusin. Like, why would you verbally confirm and set someone's expectations if babawiin din po pala. They have actually announced it, too. Verbally din. That's why nakakahiya din sa part ko. And I feel like they were expecting na I should just let it go, na para pong walang nangyari at damage sakin. This is something I would not wish on anyone.

Politics is everywhere dahil hinahayaan lang po natin. But anyways, baka hayaan ko na lang din po. Lol. I'm exhausted.
