Hi All,

Im abroad and how do i know if i am being sued? and how long does it take na malaman mo na dinedemanda ka na pala?

also, meron bang makakaexplain in simple terms kung paano ka macharge ng Libel and kung paano nila maprove ito? and is it a civil or criminal case? what happens if you are sued for libel?

they will send notices to your address.

libel is public writing which is defamatory and clearly identifies the person defamed.

is this e-libel on fb?

good evening atty!

i want to file against a person who is in Japan, this is e-libel on FB..possible po ba ito na makafile ako kahit nasa Korea sya? and also, may witness din ako na tinatawag nya ako na magnanakaw daw ako nung umuwi sya dito last january, makapag file ba din ako ng case against her?do i need a private lawyer or pwede ba ito sa fiscal?

pls help atty. nakakahiya talaga mga sinabi nya...[b]

this matter is not fully settled. I would say it is arguable that a case of libel will prosper even if the accused was outside of the philippines because there were other essential elements which occurred here.

i will always advise you to get a lawyer, but if you feel confident enough to explain electronic evidence and territorial jurisdiction, then feel free to go at it on your own.

hindi po siya sa fb. sa blog po. pero nakausap ko na yung gumagawa ng blog at dinelete na niya ang nilagay ko at nag post ako ng apology/retraction..
