below is actual wordings from our HR emailed to us.
Unauthorized Absence – is when you HAVE leave credit/s but leave application was NOT APPROVED
Unauthorized AWOL – is when you DO NOT HAVE leave credit/s and leave application was NOT APPROVED
Authorized AWOL – is when you DO NOT HAVE leave credit/s but leave application was APPROVED

Type No. Of Points
Late 1/2 Point
Undertime 1/2 Point
Whole Day Authorized AWOL 1 and 1/2 Points
Half Day Authorized AWOL 1 Point
Whole Day Unauthorized Absence or AWOL 5 Points
Half Day Unauthorized Absence or AWOL 2 and ½ Points

Attendance results will have a bearing in Performance Evaluation.

our time in, should be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm no allowance pagdating mo sa bundy clock 8:01 harangin na kami ng guard, bigyan ng 5whys form. so ung 1min. mo na late maaring mag 5 min or more depende kung gaano ka kabilis mag fill up at magpapirma minsan ung supervisor mo hahanapin mo pa para mag pirma.
my officemate/friend naka accumulate na ng 10 points. na suspendi na sya ng 2 weeks dahil lang po sa ilang mins. na late. just yesterday sa pagpasok nya, kinausap sya ng HR na kung tutuusin daw puedi daw sya e terminate. pinakita sa kanya yung Circular No. 1-91 Sgd Josue N. Bellosillo. ang tanong ko lang po.
1. Cover ba ang private company sa circular no. 1-91? nakalagay kasi doon To all judges and employees of the regional trial court.
2. Qualified na po ba ang friend ko na e terminate for just cause? Hindi po sya pabaya sa trabaho nya, at kahit late sya kinocomplete pa rin ang 8 hours. 4 kasi na sakay galing sa kanila kaya di talaga maiwasan na ma late ng ilang mins. FYI Furniture manufacturing po kami at Material Planner ang friend ko. at first time pa lang nya ma suspende.
3. Confuse lang ako sa authorized awol. di ba nagfile ka na nga ng leave and then approve regardless if you have leave credits or none once approve you are not AWOL anymore un ang pagka intindi ko. tama po ba yung policy na yan. wala ba kaming karapatan mag reklamo nyan sa labor?

1. if your company has adopted that policy (circular 1-91) and stated in your handbook, yes, as long as you were given orientation on that. also baka pinakita lang yan as reference, otherwise no.

2. being tardy is no excuse. kung lagi kang late, you should adjust the time you leave your house. it doesn't matter kung di pabaya or nag complete ng 8 hours of work. tinitignan lang diyan ay sumusunod b kayo sa rules and regulations. Habitual tardiness can be a ground for termination... still due process must be observed.

3. There must be a mistake on the wording, ask your HR about it. It's probably authorized absence.

Regarding your policy, sa tingin ko tama, except I'm not sure about the circular 1-91. you can inquire with DOLE about it.
