Hi Atty,

Instead of 8hrs per day for 6 days, we are working 9.6hrs per day for 5 days. Is there any legal basis for this?

Thank you.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. The policy has been in place when I came in to this company.

Actually, we are seeing this as a 'benefit' because we are not required to work on saturdays. However, we are working for 9hrs and 36mins daily. By the way, we are paid on monthly basis. Are we entitled to some sort of overtime pay in the extra 1.6hrs we work daily since this is against the maximum of 8 hrs required by law?

if there is no agreement with employees for a compressed work week then you should all be entitled to overtime.
