Hi Atty,

Good morning po.
Gusto ko po sana magpaconsult sa inyo about sa wage distortion po ng labor code natin.
kasi po we have a company po sa dyan sa manila and we want to employ programmers po. Currently wala pong programmers sa company and now we are planning to have some. IT manager po ako and i am willing to pay po ung mga ihire na programmers to follow ung market rate which is between 24k to 50k depends on their level of experience.
ang prob po is ung General manager nmin ayaw igrant ung salary range ko for programmers and dinadahilan po nya ung "wage distortion".
As for her ung ibang department like accounts and admin staff are not getting this salary range and even the managers under her are getting arpund 30k.
i am getting higher than them because i am hired po ng US company nmin, in which i am just deploy to work in PH to handle this IT team of programmers in PH.

hindi po ba tlga tama na sumunod kmi sa market rate dahil sa ang team na nandito sa pinas ay around sa 30k lng ang max salary? Even though na magkakaiba ng field or work category? Paano po ung mga software company dito sa pinas na ang salary ng programmers ay nasa 35k? It means po ba ung mga accountant or admin manager nila is 35k or above rin ang salary?
Ano po ba ang wage distortion?

Seeking for your kind advise po.

Are there any minimum salaries in the Philippines other than the very low ones for workers* and even lower for domestic helpers?
(There are other categories of high examed, who get only 14 000 to 20 000p per month.)

*The minimum depend of region but is around 5000 to 7000p per month.

BUT IF the company offer to low salary for programmers, then the good ones don't want to work there... Smile

Programmers is a category, who can live in the Philippines and work on DISTANCE for foreign companies, which I suppouse pressure up programmer's salaries working for Filipino companies too.

Distortion is mainly an operation of the minimum wage and the effect of its adjustment on those whose salaries may be affected (or generally, overtaken).

Meaning po b okay lng na mag 24 to 35 or higher salary ung programmers ko sa company nmin even ung ibang departments are not receiving the same? Kc po i am seeing it as different set of people skills. Thus, they should be rated differently..
For your kind advise po...

Yes, iba naman ang skills at sweldo (for example, ng programmers) compared to others who do not have the same skills.
