I just got a job and one of the pre-employment requirements is the latest FORM 2316 from my previous employer.

My previous employer provided me Form 2316, with 9/14 - 12/31 2011 as the period covered. (By the way, I was employed in that company from Sept 2011 - June 2012). They said that's the latest.

I submitted that to my current employer, but they said I have to submit form 2316 for the year 2012.

This is getting so toxic. Does my current employer really have to get that? What if my previous employer can't provide that?

yes, they need it so they can compute how much income tax you have already paid and need to pay for the year.

in accordance to our member's question; the year(2011) already ended and you are now working on a different company; does your current company still needs the 2316 form from the previous company?

DETAILS: i worked with company A from FEB. 2011 to AUG. 2011. I started my worked with company B SEPT. 2011 until present JUNE 2012.

i failed to past my 2316 to company B since company A can no longer pull up my records. does company B still needs to 2316 eventhough that 2316 was for the previous year?

hope someone can help me.
