Hi there!

I just want to ask if anyone knows the best legal business form that a foreign corporation may set up in the Philippines.

They want to set up an office that will serve logistics support to their fishing vessel serving their customers in the country.

Do you think a representative office may do?

Di po ba confined lang sila for promotional activities?

A Representative Office registered in the Philippines is confined to doing the following in the name of its parent company: 1) do information dissemination, 2) act as communication center in promoting company goods and services, and 3) perform quality check.

Note that the representative office cannot create direct income in the Philippines. All funds for its local operation must be sourced from its parent company.

If the function of the office is Manila is confined to what has been enumerated above, then you can register a representative office here in the Philippines. Otherwise, you may register as a domestic company or as a foreign-owned company.
