HI! Isa po akong call center agent. Ngkaroon po ako ng problema sa pnapasukan kong company about my rest day.

Ang sched ko for Dec is Mon - Fri, 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM

I wouldn't consider that unreasonable. look at it holistically. for the entire period, will it result in less rest days?

Ok. Let's say it's not unreasonable. But is it even legal? I mean, asking us to work for 10 straight days?

i have to concede this is not a settled matter, and your remedy is to file a complaint at DOLE, but my opinion is that it can be allowed.

Hi!

Just to share,

As far as i know and based on the Labor Relations Training/Seminars I attended, we are not allowed to work for 7 consecutive days regardless if within the same work week or during the transition period of schedule. Your workforce team / team leader should make adjustment on this. They should plot your schedule not resulting to 7 consecutive days working.
That would be whether regular workdays or RDOT(restday overtime) OR WORD(work on restday), company should not allow its employees to be working for 7 consecutive days mainly because its against the law-labor code. Secondly it would result to restless employee that even though employee would still report to work on the 7th day he/she might not be productive on the said day because of exhaustion and also it might lead to absence of the employee not just for a day but maybe for long. Because employee might find or feel going to work is a hell. He/She will be demotivated. And worst come to worse it might result to attrition: resignation / AWOL because employee would be exhausted and fed up especially if that'll be habitual practice.

Happy and Healthy employee is a productive employee.

Hope this helps,
