Filing a Law Suit against a Hospital

I was recently an inpatient at a Hospital for 3 nights for seizures and spasms. I was to be monitored on a regular basis. My wife went home for a couple of hours to get food and when she got back to my room found me unconscious lying on the floor. Apparently I had another bad seizure and flipped out of the bed. Now I have lost feelings in my left hand in my small and ring fingers as well as the side of my hand. The doctor claims its from the IV and the feeling in my hand would go back to normal. I work at a call center and have to use a computer...but now I cannot feel the keys with that portion of my left hand. My neurologists has given me some nerve medications but if it doesn't help...and it hasn't (its been over a week now) then I may have permanent damage to my left hand. Can I file a Law Suit against the hospital? If so how do I go about it? I don't have money to hire an attorney.

if you will sue for less than 100k, you can file a small claims case. rules on sc.judiciary.gov.ph. you won't need a lawyer.

Okay thanks...do you believe I have a legitimate case here? If I were to sue for more than 100K...how much could I try for? And how much would an attorney charge to file for more? And what is the percentage a lawyer get if he is successful?
