The company increased my basic salary by 3K but deducted 1.5K in my allowance. So, it is just like increasing my gross salary by 1.5K. Is it legal to make deductions in COLA? I thought you can only increase it but never decrease it. My dad also told me that there is a provision in the Philippine Labor Law that whatever the employer has given to the employee, the former cannot take it back. Is there really as such? Please help me. I want to know my legal rights first before I complain to the management of my company.

Thanks a lot!

what are these allowances? how are they designated in your payslip or contract? I don't think they refer to Ecola, because if it used to be 3k, that's too big.
