Are employers allowed to deduct without signed authorization from employees?

Our finance department claims that we were overpaid. Their records reflect incorrect data of our attendance because of an issue with the software used for our payroll and attendance.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

In cases of inaccurate posting in the computerized timekeeping due to technical malfunction of the system, the company can rectify said errors thru salary deductions.  The payroll dept/HR should inform all affected employees thru a memo or a letter of deductions for proper guidance.
