I have been serving my company for almost 20 years. I am 45 years old. In five years I can avail the early retirement program. But the problem is the company is down sizing. And the new boss changed the requirements and job loads. In short I may be qualified for termination due to their reviews. My question is can they let me go without compensating my years of service or monetary help? According to them it's not in the companies policy to give anything but our last paycheck.
Our HR is now wants me to discuss with them my short and long term plans.
Thank you for your time.
