Hi Good Afternoon,

I have a friend who is having her ojt in a certain hotel here in cebu as a housekeeper. Upon cleaning the room she accidentally left a bottle of toilet bowl cleaner put a mineral water bottle of which the guest drank. She was brought to the hospital and all bills is charged to her...is it fair enough? the hotel must pay right? Please advise me with this...I'm just trying to help a friend

Negligence? Disregard for safety measures? These are grounds for termination and criminal case. What if the guest died?
Hotel is accountable to its guests. The guest can sue the hotel not the employee or its authorized rep. The rep or his team leader is accountable to the hotel.
Just random thoughts.

addition:
the victim can sue, both the employee and the employer... and both are equally responsible.

the employer, without checking the job of an OJT, there should be a mentor to check the works,,

the employer later can dismiss, and file another charge to the employee,
if the damages is really that huge,,,,
gud luck...

Just my oppinion:
WHY was strong chemicals put in a mineral water bottle at all?!
If that was made by or by order of the hotel, then the hotel get a MUCH biger share of the responcibility than they would have otherwice.

WHERE was the bottle placed?
The more likely to believe it's mineral water, the biger part of the responcibility belong to the cleaner.
