Gusto ko lang po malaman kung may right po ba ang recruitment agencies na itago ang passport ng applicante? Kasi po nag apply po ako sa isang recruitment agency at 3 bwan na po nilang hinold ang passport ko, di pa ako mapalagay na ngayon kasi personal travel document po yun. Nagpunta po ako the other day sa office at tinakas ko po yung passport ko, ngayon ay hinahanap ako ng agency kasi bakit ko daw po tinakas yung passport ko. Ang point ko lang naman kasi is akin yun at karapatan ko yun, ngayon they are harassing me na ipapa black list daw po nila ako sa Immigration, pwede po ba mangyari yun eh in the firts place tatlong bwan nila ako pinahintay para sa Visa na ngayon lang na grant,pina medical na din at malaki na ang nagastos, gusto pa nila na ulitin ulit. Ano po ba ang masusuggest nyo na legal na paraan para tapusin ito or ok lang po na wag na akong bumalik sa agency ( I think kinukulit nila ako kasi gusto nila akong pabayarin ng processing fee na ayokong bayaran kasi ang tagal na walang nangyari sa application ko). I am after professionalism lang naman po pero kung legally wala naman akong pananagutan sa agency na yun ay di na akon mag aatubling bumalik pa po doon. Salamat!

their right to hold onto your passport arises by your consent to give it to them. they cannot detain it as it were a deposit or collateral.

as for your liability for services rendered by the agency, it will depend on what agreement you had and the extent of work they conducted.
