Hi im a teacher in a public school.. when i joined an encampment by the Boyscout of the Philippines, our Authority to travel was not sent to our school because the superintendent signed only the day before we leave. the Principal ( w/ the sulsul of theActing Administrative Officer) of the School released a memo stating that we failed to endorse such documents, bypassing the office of the principal ( although the principal already knew that we have an encampment), we disrespect the protocol as expected from government employees and failure to submit notification of teachers assigned to respective classes although I have already given 1 copy to my curriculum head.. she stated further that i will be absent for the said dates and cannot avail my service credits. Moreover i have to explain in writing within seventy two hours to legitimize my action.. I felt oppressed. is there any legal action you could advise me sir?

As protocol, you have to seek prior approval from your Principal before you leave your post, to make your travel  on official time. It will also be to your advantage if you have with you the approved travel authority,  in case of accident  while on official business.

Just reply to the memo they issued.

We have already told them a week before and has a memo containing the information of the said activity. it also states their that it serves as an authority to travel for government officials who would join but what theyre looking for was a memo with our names but we gave it to them a day late. but still they pursue the memo telling us that we will be considered absent and cannot avail the service credit moreover.. we had informed them before yet they insist that they dont know and we had evidence that we informed them a week before... tnx for the repz
