Hi!
One of our employees came back from the US last January 25, she was supposed to have come back Jan. 20. She didn't email or give any advise when she was to come back. She emailed our boss early January, when she was in the US, that she intended to resign. But when she came back and went to the office on Jan 26, she did not pass a resignation letter & still has not come back to the office to turn over her files & etc. Is this considered as AWOL already? and should we send her a letter to return to work? Please provide advice. Thanks!

yes, your first step is a return to work order. you have to treat her as a continuing employee until she actually files a resignation letter.
