Good Afternoon, I would like to ask an advice regarding to Electric Service in the country. I was out of the country for 20 years and came back because my mom passed away. I'm staying in my mom's place and last July 16, 2012 there's a house to house inspection of electrical wiring, and found out that a jumper was connected to my mom's electric service. I was surprised and don't have any knowledge about this matter. Today, Aug. 10,2012 I received a demand letter to settle stated amount within 10 days. Kindly please give me an urgent advice regarding this matter. Thank you.

while you will not be personally liable for the entire amount, most electrical distributors will cut off your service. the remedy is to first file a letter with the service provider, and then filing a case at the ERB.
