I am currently employed but in a redundant status in a call center company. The company provided a letter stating the accout is about to end a month prior to the account's end of life. According to the HR meeting held prior to the account ending, if after 6 months they have found no available account for me, they will provide me a redundancy pay.
The company informed me that they will initiate to contact me once they have a suitable account/project for me.
The account ended last March 10, 2012, and until now I do have an account. The company gave me one interview for a certain account, but no further details were provided.
Is it legal for a company not to provide any compensation while their employee is on a "floating status".
Below are the terms of the company (memo was not provided, just an HR "verbal terms" meeting):
- Health care is active
- SSS and PAG-IBIG contributions will stop.
- No basic pay and allowances.
In short, the health care benefit will remain but no compensation at all.
They also mentioned that we can look for another work, but once they provided us a job, we need to report on the given schedule.
Please advise. Thank you.
