You need to file a correction of entry with the court, try to seek the help of the public attorneys office (pao) near your place, they will represent you in court as indigent client as long as your monthly income is not more than 13,000.

Hello, just sharing information po..

RA 10172 has been in effect since Nov. 2012, which authorizes the city or municipal civil registrar or the consul general to correct clerical or typo errors on date of birth or sex of a person appearing in the Civil Register without the need of a judicial order. Amendment can now be done by filing an affidavit with support documents.

The petition and its supporting papers shall be filed in 3 copies to be distributed as follows: first copy to the concerned city or municipal civil registrar, or the consul general; second copy to the Office of the Civil Registrar General and third copy to the petitioner.

I am not allowed to post links yet because I'm new to the forum, but just Google RA 10172 to get more details.

I hope this helps.

Hi Abi0911:

Mas maganda siguro punta ka na lang sa civil registrar's office kung saan ka naka-register at itanong mo directly WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO REQUEST CHANGE OF YOUR GENDER ON YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE, at HOW MUCH IT COSTS YOU, at HOW LONG WILL YOU BE ABLE TO GET A NEW BIRTH CERTIFICATE WITH THE CORRECTION.   Ang fee kasi hindi pare-pareho, it depends on the local civil registrar. Good luck!
