Hi i need help! can i use my maiden name even if i am already married? i already applied for nbi clearance using my husband's surname before.

yes, but you have to be consistent. for something like a passport, you have to stick to the name that you used after getting married because they don't have to change it back.

one more question atty, is it true that if you are separated for a long time like for 7 years at least, the marriage is considered invalid or void? for what grounds?

atty, is it okey or possible that i can use my maiden name in my single status instead in a married status in applying/working abroad since i'm recently got married, and all those papers were being processed when i was in single. Do the philippine embassy will question me this regarding this matter? or shall i change all my documents/papers in my married name first. is it necessary? what the consequences of this.... i have'nt change my status yet. Pls help! i need your advise. thanks,& god bless! Sad

tnx. atty, can i ask your point of view, if in case you're using your name in a single status upon application employment abroad, do they consider it?, even if you will present your marriage certificate, just telling them that, you're married but you have not changed your status yet Smile

i can only speak for entites such as the DFA, SSS, BIR. All they need is to update your registration. I would not know how it would affect non-government entities.

I got married to a woman by church but I used my middle name, when I checked at NSO, my last name is showing single but my middle showing married.

I planned to get devorced since my ex-wife and I were separated 10yrs ago, my ex-wife already have new son from her new BF.

Now I have line-in partner and we were planning to get married, any suggestions??

sorry wala palang divorce dito sa pinas, annulment pala,
tanong ko po lang, may chance po ba na maging single ulet yung status ko pag gagamitin ko yung apelyedo ng tatay ko, kasi nung nag pakasal po ako sa church is middle name yung gamit ko. which is last name ng nanay ko nung dalaga pa sya.

gud am atty. ask ko sana wat ang sanctions in my friend's case who used her maiden name & single status in all her documents even she was maried 14 yrs ago but separated already for 10 yrs. she's now working in a gov't agency.. tnx po Smile

Hi ! ask ko lang po kung pwede ko bang gamitin ang maiden name ko for employment purposes? Kasi lahat ng legal documents ko saka mga ID like SSS and PRC nasa maiden name ko pa. Yung passport ko pa lang nagamit yung apelyido ng asawa ko. Saka pwede ko bang wag dalhin yung surname ng asawa ko? Although apelyido nya ang gamit ko sa passport. Thanks!

Good Day maam/sir i hope you can help me on this matter:
Im using my mother's Last Name and Middle Name on my school and other government documents, but In my NSO Birth Certificate it indicates that my mom's last name is only on my middle,ano po ba ang gagawin ko at ano ano ang mga requirements pra masunod sa middle name and last name ng mom ko ang sa akin...

and what last name is on your birth certificate, your father's? my recommendation in this situation is that your mother adopts you if you are illegitimate.

Guillermo Caulin Larines - yan po yung name n gnagamit ko... Caulin is my mom's middle name, And Larines is my mom's surname
But my NSO Birth Certificate Guillermo is my name and Larines is on my middle name.. ano po b dapat ko gawin?

another question atty..i got married last dec 5..kaya lang po nang makuha ko un MC ko sa nso nakalagay dec.20,,that time po naka alis na ang husband ko (dec 10). WHat should i do po ba? thats why i want to use na lng my maiden name(for passport)..para di na ako mg present sa dfa ng MC. thanks po.

if you want to use your maiden name, you have the right to do so. what you cannot do is use your married name then later ask them to change it back.
