Discrimination against maids, yayas etc?

It is the policy of our condo's bldg admin not to allow yaya, drivers maids to passby our lobby(they have to use back entrance).

We find this very rude and we feel they(the maids) are discriminated.

Is there a law against this? Have they violated a law...maybe human rights?

Our condo admin has a habit of making wierd policies, maybe as an excuse, to charge us with 10k worth of penalties. Sad part is, our condo is not one of the top condos... It is maybe an old third-rate condo. It is not the top condos in the fort, makati etc.

Unit owners have no way of contesting thier policies because they control the board and its members.

first, you have to gain support of the unit owners so that you will be able to garner enough votes in the next election. the people have to vote.

yes, there are laws against discrimination. the basic one is:
Art. 26. Every person shall respect the dignity, personality, privacy and peace of mind of his neighbors and other persons. The following and similar acts, though they may not constitute a criminal offense, shall produce a cause of action for damages, prevention and other relief:

(1) Prying into the privacy of another's residence:

(2) Meddling with or disturbing the private life or family relations of another;

(3) Intriguing to cause another to be alienated from his friends;

(4) Vexing or humiliating another on account of his religious beliefs, lowly station in life, place of birth, physical defect, or other personal condition.

I just could not imagine and quite shock that there is such a condo policy. It is not only utterly violative of human laws but likewise of divine laws.

Yes unfortunately. We have a shrewd building admin. They imposes very strict rules so that when someone violates it they will slap a 10K penalty.

we cannot even keep our doors open. It should always be close. if a security guard caught you with an open door, the guard will report you to the admin and be charged 10K.

parking facing the wall is strictly implemented. They claim exhaust will make the walls dirty but our parking area is not at all clean. marumi din at luma na. Our bldg was erected 1998 pa... it is not a sosyal condo like DMCI, SMDC, Pacific Plaza etc... it is just one of those low-class Condo. They use policies like this to penalize us... sad but we cant do anything.
