Problem on NSO Birth Certificate

Good day po. Ask ko lang po kung pano po gagawin ko. Sa NSO Birth Cert. ko po kasi, walang Name na nag appear. Wala narin po akong original copy ng birth cert, binaha na po. Gusto ko po sanang mag take ng Licensure Exam for Teachers. Kung may mga processes pong gagawin, how long will it take? Thanks po...

Oo nga po pala, dun sa original copy ng Birth cert kong binaha, may name naman po but handwritten lang, and no countersigns ng clerk na nagsulat...

morgift, you mean they found a birth certificate, the name of your parents are there, it has your b-day and place of birth?

the problem is that your entire name is missing or just part of it like the last name or the first name?

marife, that can be considered a clerical error. you should go to the civil registrar where your birth certificate was registered and inquire about the requirements for filing a petition for correction under RA 9048.

Good evening po. First name lang po ang wala sa NSO. The rest of personal information are filled-up completely. Doon po sa luma kong birth cert, First Name ko lang po ang handwritten.

Pwede po kayang kumuha ng copy ko ng original birth cert sa Local Civil Registry then magpa affidavit po? Ganon daw po kasi ginawa ng pinsan ko no'ng magregister siya sa LET. Pero correction lang sa NSO copy ng spelling ng name and b-date ang prob niya, and may copy siya ng corrected original birth cert.niya.

morgift, you will have to inquire at the PRC if they will allow that. to my mind a blank first name can be argued as a typographical error. good luck.

I would just like to ask if theirs other way to correct my NSO birth certificate, coz they put MALE instead of FEMALE, i already seek for an Attorney but they tell me that it will cost around 30 thousands pesos, but i do not have that amount of money. Is it really that expensive just to correct the gender for NSO?.Can you teach me what is the real process for that problem? I really need to apply for a passport, or is their other way also to get a passport even if i have a problem on my NSO. Hope you could answer this. Thanks

Good day po.. Please help me with my NSO problem sir/ma'am. Kumuha po kasi ako ng birth cert sa NSO. I found out po na deleted na daw po yong name ko. nag-double daw po yong registration ko. 'yong first registration po ang naka-input na ngayon sa NSO records and deleted na po 'yong name na ginagamit ko. I never thought na may problema pala ako sa NSO kasi eversince po, tuwing kumukuha ako ng birth cert sa NSO, wala na man pong problem. nito na lang pong huli. in fact po I was able to work na nga po abroad on 3 contracts na po.. How come po nagkaroon ng problem na ganito? hawak ko ngayon ang dalawang birth cert po. 1. ang first cert po ay Oct. 1980 ang date of registration pero mali2x ang entries; and 2. yong ginagamit ko talaga which is tama lahat ang entries. anong habol ko po dito? im afraid po kasi na hindi na me matanggap sa kahit na anong work because of this. I'm going to take the nursing board exam din po. Please help..

hi po uli.. in addition po.. last 2002 po ako huling kumuha ng birth cert sa NSO. tapos po noon, nagwork na po ako abroad. pero po sa 4th contract ko po, di na po ako tinawagan ng employer ko. di na rin po ako tumawag sa kanila kasi po nabuntis po ako. di po kaya pinalitan ang name and registration date ng birth cert ko? posible po ba iyon?

mizraim, this is very uncommon. what is the difference between the two birth certificates? what part of your name changed, first or last? did something happen between your parents?

does it mean your parents filed 2 birth certificates with different names?

Thank you sir. I've already inquired at the PRC and they allowed me to file. I requested a copy of my orig birth cert from the local civil registry. Still, handwritten ung first name, but accepted po pala yon. I was worried na baka magkaproblem na naman dahil don. Then transmittal to NSO main nalang ang hinahantay kong copy from the local cvil registry. Together with my orig.birth cert and NSO authenticated copy, i-attach ko rin daw ung copy ng transmittal as proof that my papers are under process. Thank you again Sir, more power...

Hi, Good day po. I hope someone could help me with my dilemma. I applied for a copy of a birth certificate through E-census. When I received the copy, iba ung name na nakalagay, and place of birth (in Pasay) but with same birthdate, name of father and mother. I asked my mother about it, and what happened was, they registered me twice.

My first birth registration has birthplace in Pasay while second registration has my birthplace in Cam. Sur.

I have used my Birth certificate registered in Cam. Sur (2nd registration) for my baptismal, confirmation, school credentials, legal documents like sss, philhealth, pag-ibig, passport etc. In fact, I also got a copy of this from NSO back in 2000 and 2008.

Now they're telling me that the birth record registered first is the correct document and the birth record of the one with birthplace in Cam Sur will no longer be released.

Pls let me know what I should do to correct this? Thank you and more power!

it is correct that the 1st birth certificate that should be considered the correct one.

you can file a petition in court to correct the record, or you can adopt the name on the first birth certificate.

yes, but the problem will be that the civil registrar will use the name on your birth certificate.

hello po, tulad po nung problem ni mizraim nawawala din daw po ang record ko sa nso pero dati nman po ako nkakakuha ng record sa knila nkapag abroad nrin po ako at nakasal, last 2007 po ang huling kuha ko sa nso ng copy at nakakuha parin po ako, pero ngaun sabi nila na may katulad daw po ksi ng detailS ang bcert ko kaya dinelete nila ang bcert ko at ang keep nila ay ung ndi late registered, anu po bang pwede kong gawin, simula naman po nuong nagka mulat ako at nag aaral plang ako yun na ang gamit kong pangalan, sa abroad at sa lahat ng legal documents ko pati narin po sa properties, kailngan ko po itong maayos ksi po prang npakahirap nman na ang ginagamit kong name ay ndi nag eexist legally, meron po akong approve petition sa US pati ang anak ko bka po makaapekto eto sa pag process ng papeles namin mag ina, please po tulungan nyo po ako, maraming salamat po...GODBLESS PO!!!

so it's not missing, it was discovered you had an earlier birth certificate. is it a big difference in names?

if so, your remedy is to either adopt the name on the birth certificate or file a court petition for change of name.

Atty, what if na deny yung petition and the court says na the 1st registration prevails. what is my best way now
to do since all my docs (passport) is using the 2nd registration birth cert? I will be applying for a US petition. Please help. thanks.

it's not a choice between the first and second. it's about correcting the first one.

Hi good day po, please help me about my nso problem.. Sa original birth cert ko na first name type written yung BABY BOY and then my open and close parenthesis na hand written yung Mark Joseph ko.. Ang lumabas sa NSO ko is BABY BOY Mark Joseph po kasi yung ginagamit ko.. Hindi po ako makakuha ng passport dahil po sa nso problem ko.. Please help and advise me to what to do and maka save ako..
