A faculty member has filed a complaint against me to the Dean of our college which he had notarized. The contents are highly incorrect and I have statements from witness to disprove his accusations. Is he liable for perjury? in his complaint letter, he was accussing me of a lot of things that boils down to me being unprofessional and tampering with his academic freedom as well as speaking negatively about another faculty member. all of these are false and witnesses could prove my innocence. Is there any other case I could file against him apart from perjury(if it is indeed perjury?) Thank you for your time and help.

libel will not prosper because it is a complaint filed with a proper authority.

i'm afraid perjury is hard to prove. it is not enough that what was stated was false or incorrect, it must be shown that the speaker knew this to be false.

Thank you for your immediate reply. Will unjust vexation qualify for this instance?
