Arresto Menor

an accused was convicted for 3 crimes:

1st crime: 4 years and 2 months of prision correccional to 20 years of reclusion temporal + sum of P600,000

2nd crime: 4 years and 2 months of prision correccional to 20 years of reclusion temporal + sum of P500,000

3rd crime: 4 months

am i right that the sentences are commulative so the maximum period is a total of 20 year & 4 months??

so when can he ask for parole?

how about subsidiary liability?

please help.. i really sucks at counting penalties Crying or Very sad

If your taking the BAR EXAM dont worry, that will never be asked, except in counting the Indeterminate Sentence.

For discussion purposes, you cannot count the exact years or months unless it is the IMPOSED penalty. What you have presented in the 1st and 2nd crime is the IMPOSSABLE PENALTIES as distinguished from the 3rd crime which is the IMPOSED penalty.
