Hi.. We were planning to have a civil wedding. Me and my girlfriend are 22 and 21 years of age. I just want to ask what if we do not acquire our parent's advise as a requirement for the marriage license? Can we still pursue the civil marriage? Will the marriage be void?

You can still be granted your marriage license even if without procuring parental advice. Albeit, three (3) months later.

Yes you can still get married provided you procure the marriage license first. Don't worry, lack of parental advice has no effect on the validity of the marriage.

Hi, thanks for the reply.. so there would be 3 months waiting time for the release of our license? is there other process need to accomplish during that span of time with regards to the claiming of the marriage license?

just wondering, will that process be the same for 18-20 yrs of age?

Hi guys! i'm 23 and my bf 24, we're planning to get a civil wed.
Howecer, getting the marraiage license needs affidavit of parental advice ( if the bride/or groom is 22-25 yrs old)

the fact is our parents are both in mindanao what should we do?

kung pwd pala kht walang parents advice, bkt ung civil registrar dito sa amin ayw kaming bigyan ng marriage license kht walang parents advice na maibigay ung BF ko? 23 kc sya and 26 ako. panu po kami makakakuha ng lisensya?
