My friend inherited a vacant lot. She doesn't have money to build a fence around it. She is worried about squatters occupying it. What can she do to protect her inheritance?

live on it, or have someone do so.

Based on my family and other people's experience anytime you let anyone live in your place or lot the person will get interested to keep the place and refuse to leave the premises at all or until compensated. That is the scenario we want to avoid. We do not want my sister to go through same situation. Is there a law to protect property owners from these kind of people?

the best one would be the right to actively resist any attempt to usurp your property, but you have to be there to do it. no fence, no caretaker, then at least put up a sign.
