greetings..i want to ask if u have any idea how much will it cost for the processing for legitimation so i can prepare for the necessary payments for the said process..ty

Requirements for Legitimation by Subsequent Marriage (1 week processing)

1. Execute Joint Affidavit of Legitimation (3 copies)

2. If child has not yet been acknowledged, execute Affidavit of Paternity/Acknowledgement, submit 3 copies

3. Certified Copy of Birth Certificate (1 copy)

4. Certified Copy of Marriage Contract (3 copies)

* Copy of Divorce paper, if Divorced

* CTC of Death Certificate if one of the parent is deceased

5. NSO Certificate of No Record of Marriage (CENOMAR) for both


i'm sure the fee is minimal

thanks for the reply..by the way,if me and my husband will apply for cenomar,since we are already married,what's the purpose?and if ever we apply for it,what info should we put?our single status info or the married status info? thanks again.God bless

the purposes is to show that you were capacitated to marry when the child was conceived and born. if not a cenomar, a report of marriage. the requirement may be different in the place where your child is registered.

tnx for the reply.i want to ask,how long will it take for a child legitimation process to complete?and after the process,when can i get or apply the authenticated birth certificate of my son from the nso?will it take weeks or months??and by the way ,my son is turning grade 3 this school year,his last 2 yrs in school,he was using my maiden name,my question is if the legitimation process is done, will his academic records will be affected in any way from the process mentioned above.thats all ty

months, more likely. but once the nso copy comes out (or you can even try once approved by the LCR), you can report the matter to the school and they should change the names in their records.
