Arresto Menor

I have read this article at ERC's guidelines but I would like to know if Meralco has a justifiable reason on imposing this on our situation saying also they will terminate our account if we do not comply. Our 4 electric meters are located at the side wall of our garage less than 3 meters away from the sidewalk. The meters were there for more than 30 years already. Only one of the meters ( the one replaced by a digital model after the ondoy flood) meralco wants to be relocated. Meralco stressed that their readers find it hard to read the meter maybe due to its not facing the sidewalk but we make up for this by allowing them to enter the garage and that was since 2009 already. We had some minor coverings on the grill gate only 4 feet high for security reasons but stll the meters are very visible from the sidewalk unless they have a 4 foot reader. The only reason i see why they can not read the digital meter is that it is not facing the sidewalk unlike the dial pointer model which can be read sideview. I already personally went to their office staff and gave my explanation last October 1, 2017 backed up with pictures. I was surprised by their new memo lately stating they did not received any favorable response from me. They may have a problem with their staff receiving replies or just ignoring my reply. My question is if what they are demanding is valid? Besides being costly and time consuming for such relocation our electrician suggests that just make the said meter face the sidewalk will that be enough? Also we are prompt on our bill payments so why would they disconnect us just because of their silly reader/s Thanks for any reply or suggestions.

if there is just cause for their request, the only thing you can do is comply.

Agree to move them, but they should be the ones to spend for it. Send a letter and retain proof of receipt.
