Arresto Menor

Hello,

My marriage license with my estranged husband has information that are not true such as one of the witnesses who signed on the marriage license was not even there on that night that the wedding happened. Her signature was just forged, not even forged actually, we just made up a signature. Also, it says in the marriage certificate that the wedding took place in Pasig but it actually happened in Taguig. Lastly, the last name of my husband was misspelled.

Can those reasons be used to nullify the marriage certificate?

Thanks!

it can but by using these grounds, its the same as admitting to falsification of public documents which is a crime.

A marriage license is different from a marriage contract. You are probably talking about the marriage contract.

As long as a ceremony took place between a man and a woman who were capacitated to marry each other in front of a person duly authorized by law to solemnize marriage in front of at least two witnesses, the marriage is valid. Were you the only four persons present during the wedding? I am sure there were other guests who could attest to the fact that you indeed got married.
