I work in a government office, tuwing off madalas (once or twice a month) kami pnapa attend ng mga seminars and trainings, ang mahirap dito e wala bayad or libre ang pasok na yun, ang sinasabi pa sayo ng HR e dapat nga kami pa ang nagbabayad dahil nakakakuha kami ng libreng trainings at cert. Help pls

i think ang point ni river is that is not considered overtime so hindi kelangan bayaran. can they require you to attend? medyo grey area but they can make that completion of the training or seminar mandatory and ask you to do it on your own. For example you are employed as an accountant, pwede insist ng employer that dapat alam mo yung mga latest na vat regulations. If hindi ka marunong up to a certain date they can terminate your services. So if ayaw mo mag attend ng "unpaid salary" seminar baka matanggal ka sa trabaho. I know it seems like a loophole but yan ang batas eh.

I have no idea if pareho ang rules pag govt ang employer mo. As council said better ask the CSC

I would rather resign and look for another job kesa mag tiis sa ganyang situation

Sir the training isnt even related or specific sa work namin although mga nice to know lang na seminars like earthquake preparation, disaster preparedness, clean and green city, motorcycle and road safety, etc
