What are the requirements needed in order to get an exemption from DOLE from the so called "flexible work schedule" of solo parents. We are running a hospital which is operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The employees cannot just leave their post without somebody to take over. They need to follow their pre-approved schedule and must be on time when coming in for work due to the nature of their work.

have you discussed this matter with the employee? does she have the dswd id card of a solo parent? isn't there a way to handle this with the employee through proper scheduling?

you will have to inquire at DOLE. that is not a common request.

Need advise please. Would a girl be considered as solo parent if she bears a child out through "in vitro fertilization"? She has this medical condition that led to removal of her right ovary. Now her left ovary, which is her only chance to produce a child is also in brink of being removed as per doctors advise. Just worried that my job/employment in a private company would be affected. Please enlighten me on this. Thank you very much and God Bless!

[quote="attyLLL"]yes, you will

Maraming salamat po for your quick reply. So it means I just have to produce medical records so that I could be issued a Solo Parent ID. What about my job? Would my case be grounds for termination? thanks so much ... your insights are greatly appreciated

no, that would not be a basis for termination. in vitro is recognized by law as a legal way of having a child. you can look up at dswd how to get a solo parent id
