Please help me. I need your advice on what I am supposed to do.
This is my story:
I am a regular employee of this certain foreign company that has a forward operating base here in the Philippines. I have a training bond or a contract with this company for 3 years and it will come to an end this November 2016.
I was deployed in Cebu then in 2015. It was one fateful Thursday afternoon when I was informed that I am ordered to report to our main office in Manila. I asked our operations the reason why because I still have a scheduled work on the following day but they told me that it was already cancelled because my presence in the office was urgent. Nevertheless, I reported to our main office and availed of the first flight from Cebu to Manila. Only to find out that I am included in the list to go on forced furlough. They conducted a panel for all of us that will go on furlough. They let us sign our furlough letter in front of the board and told each one of us that we will not receive anything from them during our furlough period but they will continue to support the Philippine Government Mandated benefits & contribution i.e. PhilHealth, Pag-ibig Fund and SSS. The effectivity of my furlough was March 2015 but it was stated there that the furlough period would be for six (6) months only but right now, it is already sixteen (16) months since the effectivity of my furlough with this company. I tried to apply to other similar company but the application process is so painstakingly slow. So I tried to apply to other jobs outside my career path but to no avail. Until I landed to become an online English teacher. I have to take it in order to support my family.
Early on the month of March this year, I tried to be visible in our office to try to solicit to my seniors that I am still interested to be recalled because some of my companions who were also placed on furlough like me were already recalled because they personally paid the cost of reinstating their licenses but on my part, I could not afford to pay for it because I am just an online English teacher and my family and relatives could not give me the assurance that they could support me financially on the cost of the reinstatement of my license.
So I made a letter of request that I am willing to pay the cost deductible to my monthly salary as soon as I become regular again and addressed it all the people whom I know who could help me get back to my beloved job and who are also holding key positions in the company. But much to my dismay, one of them told me that I was out-voted. Right there, I felt that my heart was torn apart because it seems that my company is trying to close its doors on me. And I said to myself, why of all the people who were working so hard for the company as what I always do, why me? I don't have any bad record or rather I have committed any incident that cost the company to spend money because of my negligence? It took me days to understand that my company doesn't want me anymore and they are just waiting for me to file my resignation.
Not until last July 2, 2016 when my wife complained of a sharp pain coming from her right breast. I inquired at a certain Precision Diagnostics Clinic here in my place of how much does a mammogram costs. I found out that it was so expensive and I could not afford to bring my wife there for a check-up. So I decided to inquire to a friend who happens to work at Pag-ibig if I could file a loan for medical purposes. Then I was informed that I could not do so because my monthly contribution has been stopped when in fact I am still an employee of that company. On July 12, 2016 I went to the PhilHealth and Pag-ibig offices and found out that my monthly contributions has stopped since the day I was placed on furlough status last March 3, 2015. This is such a bad experience for me. Please give me some advice on what to do because I felt so trampled and left out for dead by this company whom I gave all my respect and honesty while I was still working with them. Thank you so much in advance. God bless.
