Help! So my current team has been desolved. By 1st Sept., HR will issue me a letter saying I have 3 months to look for a new role within the company. And so I am now applying to new roles within the company.

But my boss tells me that they will find me a job and "place" me in it, so no interviews and all.

Question is: Will I really need to accept the placement role even if I do not want it? Will it be legal to force an employee take a new job within?

- No, you can always find new job in another company

Will it be legal to force an employee take a new job within?
- yes, its called a transfer from one same level position.
