I would like to ask if an employee is absent before and after the holiday, does that forfeit the entitlement of his/her holiday pay?

at the minimum, if the employee is absent without pay BEFORE the holiday, he will not be entitled to holiday pay unless he works on that day.

Thank you so much for that reply.

But what about after the holiday? Is there like a reference on the Labor Code that I could read on?

Thank you.

Thank you.

Is there a company policy that has been circulated about it?

Then if so, it may be implemented to discourage employees from using the holiday as an excuse for extended and unnecessary absences.

I see. But is there like a reference on the Labor Code for that?

If none, what about a reference on the Labor Code that it's a prerogative for an employer to make that kind of policy?

No reference in LC.

Generally, as long as the company policies are not contrary to law (or until it is proven as such) then it may be implemented.
