Hi - I've been living with my partner for over 3 years exclusively as 'man and wife' and was wondering if this meets the requirements of Philippine law when it comes to having a child and obtaining the birth certificate?

Will the child be classed as illegitimate because we do not have a government sanctioned relationship?

if you are not married, then the child will be illegitimate.

is one of you previously married or both single?

Thanks for the reply. I was previously married in another country but was divorced there too.

ok, again, as long as you are not married, the child will be considered illegitimate.
