In most call centers, English only policy is being imposed. I. myself worked in a call center and I feel a bit of discrimination regarding this policy. Also, there are many employees who were terminated because they were caught speaking in Filipino while inside the call center premises. Tama ba yun? Is it constitutional na gawing ground yun ng termination?

And just today, a news came out that 4 nurses were terminated just because they were heard speaking tagalog although they already knew that it is not allowed in their workplace. Please enlighten me. Thank you.

there are only few just causes for termination: serious misconduct, gross and habitual neglect, abandonment, etc.

I believe that an all-english policy is fine within a call center environment, but to my mind, even repeated failure to speak pure english in the work place should never be a basis for termination.
