what it a company wants you to sign an agreement with them stating that you cannot enter or be employed by a company with the same industry/product for a certain period of time, say 1 year. if you choose not to sign they won't give your last salary/COE/back pay... what's the legal standpoint of the matter?

Dapat at the start pa lang ng employment (sa kontrata) nakalagay na iyon.

Ikonsulta mo sa DOLE para sigurado.
