Tenant not paying last electricity bill

Hi, ask ko lang po what is the best thing to do kasi ung last tenant namin nag moved out na pero dpa bayad last electricity bill nila. May agreement po kmi na ittext lang sila if dumating na ung last resibo ng ilaw and sila po mismo magbbayad ng last bill. Pumayag naman kami kahit di na sila nag iwan ng gamit to make sure di kami tatakbuhan since hndi n po sila iba samin. Pero nung sinisingil ko na sila via text sinabi nila na maghintay ako kung kelan nila gustong magbayad at sila pa ang galit at nananakot. Their contract ended Dec 23,2014. What can i do, pwede ko po ba silang ireklamo kahit hindi pa due nung ilaw since natapos na contract nila samin? And ano pong legal action pwede kong gawin? thanks..

Hi, depending on the amount of their liability sa electric bill, you can sue them for collection dun sa balance nila sa electric bill. However, kung maliit lang naman yung liability nila, it may not be worth the cost and hassle to go to court for that.
but first, you can send them a demand letter stating their liability, a copy of the bill.
