The company is entitled to file/claim for damages for your non-compliance of the required notice period as indicated in the Labor Code.

Follow up question po. It is also indicated in the Labor Code that employees may resign without 30 days notice if: Serious insult by the employer or his representative on the honor and person of the employee;
Inhuman and unbearable treatment accorded the employee by the employer or his representative; - so in these cases po can the company still file for damages or can they still demand the employee to render 30 days?

You may have to prove any of these situations first.

If you do, then you may no longer be liable for damages and they cannot demand that you render 30 days.

Hi! As per contract on my present company, they are asking me to render 60 days. I found a new job and filed a resignation, I can only render 30 days. My manager told me that they might tag me as AWOL if I cannot meet the 60 days. That might affect my next career.

Any legal advise for this? Thank you!

It's in the contract, you should follow it.

The 30 days notice as mentioned in the labor code is the minimum requirement ("at least 30 days") only.
