Good afternoon! I am a supervisor in a food manufacturing plant here in metro manila. my family planned for a month-long vacation abroad later this month. as early as january, i've already told my boss verbally about it. he told me he'll think about it "tutal malayo pa naman". 2 months before our departure date, i followed up my request because i need to process my visa and i am required to submit a certificate of employment and certificate of approved leave; both of which must be approved by him before hr give me a copy. he told me to formalize my request by sending it thru email. i complied. after a week, hr and i were still waiting for his answer. i again made a follow up, he told me he will approve my request for the certificates but final approval of my leave will depend on the supervisors' schedule he asked me to prepare (we are on shifting schedule, 24/7). i prepared said schedule indicating who will be my relievers during my absence from work. now a week before our scheduled departure, he texted me that he is disapproving my request for a vacation leave due to high production volume! tickets have been purchased, accomadations have been booked not to mention i've complied to his conditions, then at the last minute when everything is set, i will told that my request for leave is disapproved. i plan to go ahead with our vacation (i am not the first to request for a month-long vacation, some of our managers went on leave for over a month) what will be the consequences? please advise.

You could be considered AWOL. But you can fight that - just show the communication when needed.
