Dear Atty,

I am a muslim filipino, female. I married a non muslim guy in civil. My parents didnt know about our marriage and I with my husband decided to end the marriage and wants to file a divorce (as we know we have divorce in muslim). Is our marriage valid? after filling a divorce from shariah court, does it diminish our marriage in civil?

Please help me I badly need your advise.

it will be best to inquire with a sharia lawyer.

Thank you for your reply Atty LLL however while reading the Code of Muslim personal Laws of the Philippines I found this Art.13 of Book II, Title II, chapter 1 (2) In case of marriage between a Muslim and a non-Muslim, solemnized not in accordance with Muslim law or this Code, the Civil Code of the Philippines shall apply. .
We got married in civil does it mean I shall file an annulment, can it be null and void since I was 24 when I got married at hindi po alam ng papa ko na ikinasal ako?

hi po ask lang ko ako my friend po kac akong muslim..ang asawa nya ngaun ay dating catholic at kasal sa Catholic..what if po kng mag balik catholic ang lalake my habol paba ang friend ko na muslim sa lalake eh my legal wife nman cya? Question

oleumpa, again it is best to get advice from a sharia lawyer because i don't know a thing about sharia law.

dha, i'm not sure i understood the fact. but if someone got married twice, they might be liable for bigamy.
