Bought 2pcs hotdog sandwich an additional of 2pcs sauce for take out at a convenient store. In the office I ate one of the hotdogs with sauce, while I was opening the other sauce I noticed the number printed in it, it was 2 10181305. If I recall I was told that the expiry of the sauce was the first 6 digits of the second set of number and the expiry was Oct. 18, 2013. After an hour I had a stomach ache and I had a LBM. At 12 noon I went to the convenient store to ask them about their expired product. Upon telling the cashier in charge he ask a guy who seem to be their manager, the manager told them that the numbers there is just the product code and even went inside to check their other supply and when he came back he again said it’s the product code of the sauce. If it isthe product code where is the expiry date thus I reported it in DTI. DTI told me that the labels are hard to understand, there is no expiry and no manufacturers logo or name. They told me to report it in BFAD. Went to BFAD and they also told me the same thing and ask me if I will file a complaint. I filed a sworn and notarized complaint at DoH. Went to another branch of that convenient store to buy another set of sauce and ask them where is the expiry date they told me that it was the first six digits of the second set of number.. Last Friday Dec. 15, 2013 was our conciliation at DoH, there the manager came. During the conciliation the manager admitted selling the expired product and apologized for the inconvenience he caused and willing to pay all the expenses I have made. We did not make any settlement because I'm still thinking of what happened and really don't know what to do.. My point was they were selling products 45 days pass their expiry and I came to tell them but told me that it was just a product code, felt like i was ignored, i got sick from it and did not work for few days. I would like to ask everyone for an advice because were scheduled tomorrow for another conciliation.
