Premium payments made after Pre-need company was placed under conservatorship

My brother was paying premiums for an insurance plan from Danvil through Prudential Life. Last August 2013, when he went to pay his monthly premium, he was handed a notice that Danvil Plans, the pre-need company, was placed under conservatorsip since May 1, 2012. Prudential Life, however, only informed him of the notice last August 2013, which also states that all payments, claims and transactions need to be made directly to Danvil Plans Head Office. Can he claim the payments he made from May 2012 to August 2013 from Prudential Life since they still accepted his premium payments despite the notice?

Thanks!
