Greetings!
The spouses are both Filipinos and were married in Phil. They are both green card holder now of U.S.A. At present they are working in U.S and residing at different states. They are planning to file a divorce in U.S. If the divorce will be granted in U.S. will it be recognized in the Philippines? Thereafter, could they both remarry a Filipino? Thanks, God bless.

Green Card holder presupposes that they have only been granted permanent residency but not American citizenship. Thus, they remain to be Filipinos. By this, all matters relating to status, duties, family rights and legal capacity shall be governed by their national law. Therefore, granting the couple will be able to obtain divorce from US,the same will be void and will not be recognized here in PH.
