Hello there, can someone advice me regarding my present situation. My Mother had a fatal stroke last Feb 5 2013. By God's Good Graces she is now slowly but surely recovering. With this situation, We encountered Financial Difficulty. But as per my recollection, I never missed a payment for Meralco. i have been paying them believing that every monthly bill has a grace Period of 1.5 months.. Therefore i was doing this for the past 2 years now. Then suddenly, when everything was problematic, one personnell of Meralco came knocking at our door and saying that I have'nt paid the Bill for Feb. 2013 and he is confiscating my meter. I presented him my folder, containing my paid bills for the past 2 years indicating my payments. I told them that how come that it was just now that they are notifying me that this should not be the right payment grace period.. I even apologized and asked them to please give me till March 15 (Salary) for me to pay it and I will abide bt their rules from now on. But I reiterated that they should have notified me at first instance wayback. I even invited the person to look at my Mother's condition who is recuperating from a stroke. He said "Wala Kaming Pakialam Jan" "Basta Bibigyan kita ng 2 araw".. After 2 days, while I was at work, they confiscated my Electric Meter... It has been 4 days now.. I even have a 1.5 month old baby and my mother right now due to the intense heat on the weather, had developed kidney complications.. And now, they made me a "Magnanakaw ng Kuryente" as I'm now forced to do something for my family's sake while waiting for the Salary pay. Can Someone advise me if what they did in confiscating the Electric Meter legal? As what i adviced them that we have a Stroke Victim at my Home.
