I rented an apartment May of last year for a stay of 1 year. I noticed in the contract that I signed that there is no date for the refund of the two-months deposit I paid. I talked to the secretary of the apartment owner about it, and she told me that they will give the refund of the deposit within 60 days after my contract expires. I'm not comfortable having the promised refund date in just verbal form. The end of my contract in this apartment is nearing (May 2013) and would want to be ensured that I would get the deposit on time. What should I do? Your reply to my query is appreciated.
