Basahin mo arts. 2-4 ng Family Code. Pero presumed valid yung kasal kasi may marriage contract kayo.

imo, it is void for absence of a marriage license at the time of the ceremony, but as long as no court declares it as void, it will be presumed to be valid.

I think I know who lovemokobaby is talking about. This bogus man was caught on the act officiating a marriage ceremony by the Imbestigador team.

According to his religous sect, he was really authorized to officiate weddings but only inside their church or chapels designated by their parochial. The illegality was he did it in Munisipyo ng Manila, in the office of a counselor but without the knowledge "daw" of the counselor.

Atty, you said the marriage is void because of the absence of a marriage license, and only a court can declare it as being void, my qustions are:

1. How long should it take to get a court decision on this case? And,
2. What if this bogus guy had the couple signed a cohabitation papers in liue of a marriage license, does it still make the marriage valid or binding, and how long should it also take to get a court decision on this particular case?

1-2 years if proper evidence is presented

it has to be proven that they actually did not cohabit.
