at the time of my marriage (wedding ceremony) itself, we had no marriage license. but in the marriage contract a number appeared to have been taken from imus,cavite 2 days before the actual marriage ceremony. we don't have a copy of the license either.we did not even applied for it. . we are not covered by the family code's exemption for a marriage license. is our marriage void? our marriage contract is nso authenticated.

If there was no marriage license, the marriage is void. If there's a marriage license but there is irregularity with its issuance, the marriage is valid but the person responsible for the irregularity is liable.

there are many cases like this. if at the time of the solemnization of the marriage, there was no license, it is indeed void. but in court, there is a very strong presumption that the marriage is valid so it is very difficult to prove.

then you have to compile very strong proof and file a petition for declaration of nullity
