Dear Atty's,

I would just like to ask what are the difference between labor disputes/cases and civil disputes? are there any similarities between the two? nalilito lang po ako, kaya po ako nag-tatanong para madag-dagan din po ang kaalaman ko.

Hoping for a clear or elaborated explanation.

Peace on Earth!

Civil cases are cases between people not criminal in nature which arises from a pirvate wrong such as breach of contract, encroachment, damages, neglicgence, annulment or family dispute. Labor dispute are cases between employer and employee regarding the terms such as conditions of employment, fringe benefits, hours or work, tenure or wages.

Civil cases are tried in MTC or RTC depending on the matters involved while Labor cases are filed in NLRC.
