i have paid a retainer fee for an immigration consultant last year. i was supposed to submit papers for my application to canada, but i did not. i let the months go by without working on the papers. now i realize that i don't want to pursue it anymore. can i write them and get my money back? they didn't do anything yet anyway? thank you and hoping for your reply.

you can try and get some of it back on a quantum meruit basis.
